ADOPT A FAMILY 2011


The 2011 Adopt a Family program has concluded. Thank you, again, to all of the wonderful donors, sponsors, and volunteers who helped to make this event a success! Please check this page again in Fall 2012 for information and updates regarding our 2012 program.


 

'Adopt a Family' for the holidays!


Give Support. Give Hope. Give Smiles.
Help make the season bright for all families this Christmas. Adopt a low-income family in your community and give the gift of hope this year. There is no greater gift than helping a family in need for the holidays.

Adopt-a-Family provides families in-need with a Christmas they cannot afford for themselves. Each year, CTD partners with local schools and other non-profit organizations to match low-income families with generous donors who "adopt" families by promising to purchase items from their adopted families' wish lists. Last year, Capture the Dream, Inc. and donors supplied more than $40,000 worth of gifts to low income families in the Bay Area. Gifts ranged from clothes, hygiene products, appliances, linens, gift cards, and even brand new beds!

Ways to Participate (as an Adopter):

  1. Adopt a family. Sponsor a family by committing to purchase items from a family in-need's holiday wish list. To sponsor a family, register on our website and state the number and size of the family/families you would like to adopt. Once your application has been received, CTD will send you a confirmation email. You will receive your family's/families' wish list(s) within 5 days of successful online registration.


  2. Make a monetary donation. Donate to a family in need. Your financial gift will be used to purchase items from a family's wish list.


  3. Help spread the word. Here's how:

    • share the Adopt-a-Family website link on your Facebook account or underneath your e-mail signature 

    • send an e-mail invite to your friends and family 

    • ask your company, school, club, or church to participate

Ways to Participate (as an Adoptee):


At this time, Capture the Dream, Inc. is unable to take applications to be adopted directly from the public. We rely on our community partners to apply each year, on behalf of their clients or students, to participate in this program. The families to be adopted will be selected from among our partners' clients.


Our community partners for 2011 have been selected, and the application period is now closed. If you are currently receiving services from a community agency and would like to participate in this program next year, please encourage your agency to contact us for more information on how to apply.

Adopt A Family Sign-Up
