3rd participation at Warriors Read to Achieve

Date: 2 Apr 2007

Alameda, Calif. – On Monday, April 2, 2007, Capture the Dream, Inc. crews participated for the third time in The Warriors Read to Achieve Reading Time Out at Alameda Public Library. The crew invited children and families to attend the event, greeted parents and assisted children in putting on the Warriors T-shirts before being seated.

At the one-hour free event open to children grades K-5 only, the Warriors mascot, Thunder and the Warrior Girls read several entertaining stories. Some of the attending children also helped to read.

While some children received prizes for answering questions after the stories, nobody went home empty-handed. Every attendant received autographs, T-shirts, books, and many other goodies.

“We are planning to attend more Read to Achieve events to promote our organization and present ourselves as available and visible within the community,” said Janine Lee, CEO of Capture the Dream, Inc.

Capture the Dream, Inc. is considering organizing a reading camp or child-volunteer reading pair-up on a regular basis.
